Dyson has moved beyond hair care and air purification into oral care with a device designed to reinvent one of the least-loved parts of daily hygiene: flossing. The new Dyson CameraJet is an electric toothbrush with an in-brush camera and automated mouthwash flossing system, priced at $499. It is available starting today in ceramic blue or ceramic pink, and Dyson says the goal is to make teeth-cleaning more thorough while also reducing the need for a separate flossing routine.
The CameraJet is not the company's first experiment in personal care, but it is its first product built for the mouth. Dyson has spent years developing hair dryers, straighteners, and multi-stylers, along with air purifiers and lighting products. Venturing into oral care marks a significant expansion for the company. Toothbrush users often spend less than the recommended two minutes brushing and frequently skip flossing because it is fiddly, time-consuming, or uncomfortable. By embedding a tiny camera and a high-speed mouthwash delivery system into the brush itself, Dyson is betting that automated flossing can remove excuses and perhaps improve outcomes at home.

The automated flossing system uses a wider cone-shaped spray than traditional water flossers. By spreading the mouthwash over a larger area, the CameraJet is designed to flush particles out without producing a harsh sensation. Inside the tank, an air bladder slowly inflates to fill headspace and maintain pressure at any angle. This prevents the pump from drawing air even if the user holds the toothbrush upside down or tilts it dramatically while reaching different parts of the mouth.
Users can fill the CameraJet with their regular mouthwash and pair it with standard toothpaste, but Dyson is also planning to sell its own branded consumables. The company is developing a non-foaming toothpaste and a low-foaming mouthwash for a specific reason. Foam can obscure the camera and make it harder for the AI to see the gaps between teeth. Non-foaming formulas are designed to keep the brush's view clear during the entire brushing session, allowing the detection system to work consistently.
