GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities were searching Thursday for a Maryland antheral reported missing astatine Grand Canyon National Park.
Park officials said they received a study astir 9 p.m. Tuesday astir an overdue backpacker successful the vicinity of the Walhalla Plateau connected the canyon’s North Rim.

They said 66-year-old Clifton “Cliff” Beck of Mount Airy had obtained a backcountry licence to walk 2 nights connected the Walhalla Plateau.

It is believed that Beck is traveling alone. He was expected to exit the backcountry past Sunday.
Park rangers searched unsuccessfully by craft Wednesday for Beck.
