GREENBELT, Md. (WJZ) — Officials announced that 28-year-old Avante Daquan Lee of Suitland to three years in prison followed by three years of supervised merchandise for being a felon successful possession of a firearm.
According to Lee’s blameworthy plea, connected March 15, 2020, a Prince George’s County police officer saw Lee in a Temple Hills parking batch trying to restart a dirt motorcycle that did not have a licence plate. The constabulary officer pulled his conveyance in front of Lee who past dropped the ungraded motorcycle and ran into a wooded area.

The serviceman gave Lee respective commands to stop. During the chase, Lee threw a semi-automatic pistol into the underbrush adjacent a chain-link fence. Lee stopped moving erstwhile helium reached the chain-link obstruction and began to reach into his waistband.
Believing that Lee was attempting to drawback a weapon, the officer who was chasing Lee told him that helium was nether arrest and ordered him to the ground.
According to officials, officers who arrived connected the country during the pursuit saw an entity alert done the air and land in the underbrush adjacent wherever Lee was running. They searched the area wherever the entity landed and recovered the pistol — loaded with 10 cartridges.

An investigation revealed the weapon had been stolen on April 25, 2016.
During a search, officers recovered a .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol in Lee’s near sound leg. Two additional magazines, 1 loaded with 10 cartridges and the other loaded with 7 cartridges were besides recovered from Lee’s close beforehand pocket.
His cellphone was also recovered from his close beforehand pants pocket. Officers obtained a hunt warrant for the telephone and discovered galore pictures and videos of Lee with firearms.

Lee knew that helium was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition as a result of two previous felony convictions in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County.
